GS Version 5.0 provides a centralized Geographic Information System (GIS) theme in GS utilizing
ArcView/ESRI "Active X" software controls to create powerful GIS capabilities within GS. This links
GS's extensive well database to "real world" GIS formats where it can be integrated with virtually
any other spatial information. Many vector and raster formats are supported; ArcInfo "Shape" files,
CAD formats (DXF, DWG, DGN), GeoTIFF, JPEG, ERDAS, and MrSID image compression. Outputs currently
available within GS are geo-referenced for seamless inclusion in the GIS system. There are options
for layering all this spatial data to create advanced maps, along with spatial database queries on
individual map layers.
